I'm So Sorry

"What do you mean you knew this whole time that Cursedstar was my mother!" Deathsong shouted at Patchstar, ears flat and fur on end.

"Deathsong, please understand...you were weak and Cursedstar had to leave--"

"I don't care! You could have told me that I was kitted by the PebbleClan leader! I'm half-Clan! I have littermates in PebbleClan!" he hissed. "You kept all of that from me! My whole life has been a lie!"

"You are not half-Clan!" Patchstar snapped back, defending herself. "Both Cursedstar and Pebbletail were MoonClan cats before Cursedstar created PebbleClan!"

"You could have at least told me you knew about my visions." the dark red tom muttered.

"I didn't know about that until Stormfeather gave us the Prophecy and we heard about Icepaw." Patchstar mewed quietly back, her ears drooping slightly. "I had no idea that all of this time...you could see StarClan."

Deathsong hissed. "The cats I see are not of StarClan. They are the lost cats. The ones that StarClan rejected. Just like me," he lashed his tail.

The MoonClan leader stepped forward. "You are not a rejected StarClan cat," she mewed, trying to be supportive, "you were meant to be a MoonClan warrior." She rested her tail on his shoulder.

Deathsong shrugged it off. "What about Mothdust then? Why does everyone think she's the third cat?" he demanded, his eyes barely even slits.

"We think...Mothdust has visions like you do," the tortoiseshell she-cat explained. "Cursedstar has been telling me that she has noticed Mothdust daydreaming and staring off. She thinks it's connected."

"And Icepaw? You know she can hear the dead cats, right? That they have been tormenting her?"

Patchstar nodded slowly, "I don't know what we can do to help--"

"That prophecy was a load of fox dung!" Deathsong shouted. "Ever since Stormfeather told us about it, it has caused us nothing but trouble. 'Beware of he who tells the lies, watch the watcher who walks two lives, half his story told, half hidden from view...find the three that complete the two.' What does that even mean?"

The MoonClan leader sighed. "I'm not entirely sure myself. All I know is that you, Icepaw and Mothdust are the three cats."

"You all are useless." Deathsong snarled, turning and running out of the leader's den.

"Deathsong!" Patchstar called after him. "I'm...I'm so sorry."
