The Ceremony of Warriors

TWG Assignment 12: Silence in the Forest
FRIENDLY REMINDER THIS IS DUE TOMORROW

The rain had slowed to a light drizzle on top of the treetops. The ground below was dry and springing with new life of herbs and prey. In the middle of MoonClan's territory, in the MoonClan camp, Patchstar was giving a warrior's ceremony.

"Sorrelpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Patchstar offered. The ginger tom nodded decisively.

"I do," he agreed.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Sorrelpaw, from this moment you will be known as Sorrelfox. StarClan honors your enthusiasm and bravery, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MoonClan."

Sorrelfox beamed and Willowpaw pressed herself up against him, purring slightly. Runningpaw's ceremony was next.

"I do," she puffed out her chest proudly.

"Runningpaw, from this moment you will be known as Runningbreeze. StarClan honors your loyalty and devotion, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MoonClan." Patchstar recited. The newly named black warrior grinned with pride at her new name.

"Hazepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" the dark tabby agreed without hesitation. Patchstar continued, "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Hazepaw, from this moment you will be known as Hazefire. StarClan honors your tenacity and endurance, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MoonClan."

Deathsong perked up as Patchstar then began addressing Barleypaw. "Barleypaw, from this moment you will be known as Barleyleap. StarClan honors your caring nature and determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MoonClan."

Last but not least, it was Willowpaw's turn. The tortoiseshell leader recited the words again, they rolled off of her tongue easily now. "Willowpaw, from this moment you will be known as Willowpool. StarClan honors your cleverness and initiative, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MoonClan."

MoonClan cheered for their newest warriors. "Sorrelfox! Runningbreeze! Hazefire! Barleyleap! Willowpool!"

Patchstar held up her tail to silence the chanting Clan cats. "We also have new apprentices to welcome into the group. Frostkit, Mistkit, Rockkit, Spicekit and Jadekit, you have all reached the age of six moons and are ready to be apprenticed. Frostkit, from this time on until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Frostpaw. Cloverleaf, you were mentored by Foxclaw and are ready to take on an apprentice. You will mentor Frostpaw."

The two cats touched noses ceremoniously, and Patchstar went on.

"Mistkit, until you receive your warrior name, from this moment on you will be known as Mistpaw. Brightshadow, you were mentored by Featherstorm. I hope that you will pass on all you learned from her to Mistpaw." Then, Patchstar turned to Mistpaw's brother.

"Rockkit, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Rockpaw. Foxclaw, you are ready to take on another apprentice. You will mentor Rockpaw."

"Until you receive your warrior name, Spicekit, from this moment on you shall be known as Spicepaw. Sorrelfox, having just completed your training, I pray that you pass on all you learned from Rustfall and Shadewhisker to Spicepaw in turn." Finally, it was Jadekit's turn.

"Jadekit, from this time on until you receive your warrior name you shall be known as Jadepaw. Blazewhisker, you are ready to take on an apprentice. I give you Jadepaw to train."

As the final ceremony was completed, Patchstar dismissed MoonClan with a wave of her tail. She leaped down from the Moss Rock. "Now...we need to get on with our duties."

Unfortunately, Forestpaw, Bearpaw and Whisperpaw have all passed away. Joltflash, Tigerstripe and Dullsky, you are mourning the loss of your apprentices. Other apprentices are mourning the loss of their friends. They hunt with StarClan now.

Warriors
It's up to you to organize yourselves and provide for the Clan this moon.
I need 3 Border patrols and 6 Hunting patrols! I need all slots filled, so comment below to establish a patrol and who you want to go with. Please take at least ONE other cat with you on a Hunting patrol and at least THREE others on a border patrol. If no one volunteers the Clan will go hungry and cats will die!! D’:

This moon you are to teach your apprentices all about climbing trees! MoonClan cats hunt, fight and move through the territory via the tall trees that fill our territory. If you have one of the new apprentices (Frostpaw, Mistpaw, Rockpaw, Spicepaw or Jadepaw), you need to take them on a tour of the territory! This will require some roleplaying!

Apprentices
Apprentices listen to your mentors. Also I need you to make sure you catch something. No matter what kind of patrol you're on. If you are a new apprentice, you need to document your first time out of the territory as an apprentice! This will require roleplaying with your mentor!

Kits
Now that the rain has stopped you have the freedom to explore the camp. I want you to find either a new apprentice/warrior friend, a new favorite place, or playing around in puddles or mud or wet moss.
